Mr. Hirsch was born and raised in the Los Angeles area, Westchester, Woodland Hills, and Beverly Hills.  He graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1976, and attended UCLA for five quarters with a major in computer science.  He changed his major to accounting with computer science at California State University, Northridge and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1981.  Mr. Hirsch worked at Parker Lighting, Inc. from 1977 until 1985. Beginning in 1985, he worked as a computer software tester until 1990 for a large computer software company.  Following that he returned to Parker Lighting, Inc., and in 1992 he bought the business from his father and has set new strategies and goals for the company.
